Sound Plumbing & Heating, Inc. understands just how important it is to keep your plumbing in tip-top shape. We strive to help our customers’ plumbing systems working efficiently, and one of the ways we accomplish this is by keeping you informed about the ways to save water. Not only is it better on the environment, but it’s also better on your wallet as well!
Having running water has become a basic necessity, something we all depend on a daily basis. At the same time, it can become immensely costly without due care and attention. For example, something as simple as a dripping or leaky faucet can indicate a problem with your piping, and can also mean you are facing a very expensive water bill! We suggest talking with our Las Vegas plumbers if you believe you might have an issue.
Three Ways You Can Start Saving Water Today
There are many ways you can begin saving water today, just by taking the right measures. A preventative measure now can save a boatload of repairs later on down the line. For example, upgrading one of your fixtures to a more energy-efficient one can possibly save you as much as 30% on your water bill!
Here are three other ways you can begin saving:
- Upgrading the toilet. Toilets are typically the biggest water wasters, and can use a little more than 40 gallons of water each day! Choosing to upgrade your toilet might help cut down on excessive water waste, and hopefully, prevent you from having to take on extensive repairs later on down the line.
- Upgrade how you water the lawn. Do you rely on automatic sprinklers to handle the task of watering your lawn? These automatic sprinkler systems might not always be the most efficient at spreading out the water evenly (such as when they spray the concrete, the sidewalk, or the street!) and take up quite a bit of water usage. Consider upgrading to more efficient systems that use drip-style watering measures.
- Keep your washing machine or dishwasher fully loaded. You might already know this, but washing machines and dishwashers use up quite a bit of water during each cycle. Make sure you are getting the most out of your appliances by keeping them fully loaded.
As always, should you have any questions about how to continue maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of your home’s plumbing system, please give our Las Vegas plumbers at Sound Plumbing & Heating, Inc. a call today!
